This post is really a guest blog/shout out to friends who have been a part of my life journey

My plans for Friday posts are that they are guest post days or potpourri days (meaning anything goes). This is sort of a guest post – it is filled with verbiage from my former colleagues. First up is a ditty from Dan who was on my team when I lead the London office. Dan is a rockstar techie guru(one of many that found their way to Origami). I loved working with Dan! (side bar – any company who finds Dan should hire him immediately! Any company that hires him should hold onto him! The guy is super smart and GREAT with clients and colleagues.). For those of you who don’t know, I wrote parodies for each project that implemented and/or when the muse inspired me. When Dan heard of my retirement, he put this homage together. I LOVE IT!

(To the tune of "Don't Stop Believin'" by Journey)

Just a small town girl,
Livin' in an RMIS world,
She took the late night call,
Just to handle a client brawl.

Just a hardworking dame,
Managing risk was her game,
She handled every call,
Never letting a client fall.

A project, it was starting,
Over late nights and early mornings,
Up and down the line,
She ensured it all went fine.

Clients, they will remember,
That special Origami member,
The one who saw them through,
With every job she had to do.

Don't stop, Mary's leavin',
Held to the thrill of her new beginning,
Clients, people, burning in the night,
She's off to live, a new life, shining bright.

Working hard to meet the goals,
Clients from all different time zones,
Taking on the tough, with a gentle touch,
She meant to us all so much.

Don't stop, Mary's leavin',
Off to face the world she's dreamin',
She never stopped, she kept on fightin',
In her next chapter, she'll keep on shinin'.

Now, she goes to live her life,
Leaving the troubles, leaving the strife,
With grace, she's stepping out,
And we're all giving a proud shout.

Don't stop, Mary's leavin',
The office life, she's now bequeathin',
She's a rockstar, always achievin',
In her new life, we know she'll keep on winnin'.

Good luck, Mary, go and live,
We'll remember all the good you did,
In our hearts, you'll forever stay,
Here's to you, and your new heyday.

Next up we have a lovely rap song that my friends Sophie, Eddie and Drew wrote and got produced to commemorate my retirement from Origami. I can only hope that this song (link to sound cloud) can become a top 40 hit because I adore it! My niece Helena tells me it is an excellent track to jog to.

And to explain a bit of this, I’ve included a few pics.

  1. Haha! The rap is ‘dope’ and of course I sang the first ditty like Journey’s ‘Don’t stop believing’, it actually works well.
Thanks for sharing. I started blogging a few years ago but it’s focused on sharing my paper crafting skills. Still not sure I have the hang of all the blogging techniques but it’s fun to do in retirement! Feel free to check it out. https://jhstampingstudio.blogspot.com
