Mamma Mia! I’ve started with easy cuisines, haven’t I? Mexican, French and now Italian! mmmm. Whether you like your sauce from a jar or home-made, Italian food I suspect is the most popular of cuisines out there. If you include pizza then it definitely is.
I grew up eating Ragu. There was practically a mutiny when my mom switched to Prego one time. When I got out of school, I became a master of doctoring Barilla tomato sauce with a little sugar, italian seasonings, red wine and garlic. I have made my own sauce from time to time, but the convenience of a jar sauce wins 90% of the time. I have been making pesto sauce lately because I have a great deal of basil on hand (shout out to the auk).
My niece Kate and I took a fun pasta class in London one time. I don’t mind making my own noodles…well yeah I do. The kitchen becomes a mess! I would rather outsource that any day of the week.
Let’s get back to being grateful! Italian food captures the essence of Italians – full of passion and zest for life! Let’s hear it for all things Italian – a quick search of my photo library indicates I really do like Italian pastas (or at least taking pictures of it). While I focused on pastas for images, there’s clearly more choices. Special shout out of gratitude for one of my favorite Italian desserts – Tiramisu. I will dedicate an entire challenge to that delicious concoction.
