I recently had a last minute reschedule. An insulation guy was supposed to come today at noonish to replenish the insulation in the attic. Noon came and went. Then 12:30. Then 1pm. And I got a phone call. Apparently some belt that is necessary for the machine to function got damaged and he has to order a replacement belt.

This could have been annoying…if I had a regular office job and had taken a 1/2 day to be at home. But my job has a ton of flexibility (since I’m my own boss), so the appointment was scheduled.

I can be grateful for that because there is very little impact to me. I also remember when I had a regular job and was in back to back meetings how THRILLED I was when a meeting was canceled or rescheduled. That often gave me an opportunity to eat, go to the bathroom or just breathe.

Let us be grateful for these last minute hiccups! View them as a gift of extra time for you! And be sympathetic to the person rescheduling – clearly having a rough day.
