It seems that every time I go on an international trip I come home with a nasty European virus for a souvenir. Or it could be the time of year.

Saturday night I could tell something was awry. I woke up Sunday morning feeling like I was suffering from a hangover (and no I didn’t drink Saturday night, so I know that wasn’t the issue).

I laid on my couch, binge-watching Crime Scene Kitchen (a pretty funny show, which I’d love to re-create somehow with friends in a nutty themed dinner party). I could see myself headed toward a negative pity party! Luckily we are overdue for a gratitude challenge to steer me in a more positive direction.

The challenge today is to be grateful for our treatments of colds and viruses (things that can’t be treated with Rx drugs).

What a wonderful world we live in where OTC cold medicines are available and easily accessible. Between aspirin, allergy pills, Nasocort, Nyquil and Cough Drops I am feeling okay.

And of course I have to be grateful for my favorite cold treatment – Hot Tea with a little bit of honey.

If you should find yourself with sniffles and starting to feel a little blue, take a moment to be grateful for the options you have for treatment…all at your local grocery or drug store!

Here I am enjoying tea with Traveling Mavis a few years back (not sick here at all, but an excuse to show you a lovely tea I experienced in London).
