If you’ve ever sung, with a choir or even in a sing-a-long or karaoke, you’ve likely benefited from a piano or organ playing along. Today’s gratitude challenge is to be grateful for these un-sung heroes. They keep you, the singer, in tune and in tempo. Most of the time they are responsible for their own portion of the piece, but will often play a note louder to help you out. And if you’ve ever sung a piece a capella, you know how easy it is to get out of tune and go flat. Thank you to the pianist who keep us in line!
And if you’re not a singer, think about your support team – they are your accompanist. They don’t often get the glory and they often do a lot more than you know to help you.
So take a moment and say thank you.
Shout out to Tom Alderman who is the organist at RUMC. He is amazing!
Here he is shining on his own, banging out the Toccata in D minor (AMAZING) among other pieces.
And here he is accompanying the Michael O’Neal Singers.
