Well we’re in the last few days of the cruise. I’m having a fine time, except starting to feel the hints of a cold. Today was a trip in the morning to Oudenbosh and their homage of the basilica in Rome. I love that a priest was able to inspire his flock to give (and give generously) to build this work of art. Be sure to look at the picture that compares the size of this basilica to the Roman one. Nearby was a monastery and a cemetery for the monks. The morning was spent in peaceful reflection…concluding with a cute Oudenbosch frog statue.
Our port was Willemstad another picturesque Dutch town. There was a free museum to go to that was all in Dutch, so I wasn’t sure what all I was seeing. They were closing early for a wedding so I loitered a bit in hopes of seeing the bridal party. Alas, I had no luck.
The big highlight for me, which I freely admit is silly, was the the Silent Disco. I didn’t think 70’s night could be topped, but dancing around in a silent room as I listened to music via headphones was hilarious. There were 3 channels: pop, rock and slow dance. The rock channel was having some static issues…and I had no one to slow dance with (where’s my captain?), so I was hanging out on the pop channel, having a grand time!
