On Monday I fly out of the Atlanta airport for work. My last work trip…was probably a year ago for the Origami colleague conference. I have flown, but lately for pleasure…which means no laptop (yay!) and no stress because you have an angry client (which was most of my business trips).
After achieving gold and platinum status for too much travel in the last 10 years, it’s been nice to take it easy. So it is with mixed feelings that I prepare for a Monday morning flight. Calculating travel time is my biggest unknown. Normally I’d uber, but I’ve had some not great uber experiences and my flight is early, so I’m just going to get up early and hope I can find a parking space. Or I may uber. These are the tough decisions. What to wear is also irritating – I’m told casual…but I don’t want to look like a slob. Weather should be nice, but we’ll be indoors, where the AC may make the room frigid. decisions decisions!
I usually don’t like meetings that last longer than an hour…and now I’m going to be trapped in a conference room for days! I was going to kvetch about working offsite for a week, but it was my choice. I choose to go to work. I choose to be happy or sad at work. I chose my flight time (8 am), so the only person to blame is me when my alarm goes off at 5am.
I’ll let you know how bad the security line is!
