This week I received an email from North Point Community Church about a sermon series they just concluded…and it is making me think.
The overarching theme for this sermon series was ‘A Better Question’ which I presume has to do with what you should be asking yourself as you start the new year. I’m betting the catalyst for this sermon series is the desire we all have to know our purpose in life. I know I am lost on why I’m here and what God wants/needs me to do. I’m sure you can pick up on that in many of my posts. I keep telling myself to have patience and trust God to speak to me and to guide me.
Anyway, the sermon yesterday was ‘What breaks your heart?’
He’s got a nice alliteration for this process to move forward. Ask, Answer, Act
Easy to remember…and hopefully easy to take action on. Any action forward counts – even baby steps forward are steps forward.
Here’s the link to the document. I’ve also screen shot it here.
I’m going to noodle on this a little bit and will probably do a follow up post. I can think of a few things that make me sad – the Russian Ukraine war, the Israel – Hamas war, the failures in public education, Atlanta traffic (maybe makes me more mad than sad), dirty politics…but do any of these BREAK my heart. That gets personal.
