Happy first Monday after Daylight Saving Time. This gratitude challenge will be a stretch for me…but that’s why they’re not called Gratitude Low Hanging Fruit. I truly detest Springing forward. I usually can handle the morning but as the day progresses my functioning goes downhill.
So…how can I be grateful for the time change?
Hmmm…well Springing forward means that winter is behind us. I am grateful for that!
Gosh…that may be all I’ve got. No no no! I’ve got to power through with some additional gratitudes!
After a little bit of googling and soul searching, I’ve got three more positives (and I’ve confirmed that a LOT of people on the Internet are against Daylight Saving). But let’s stay focused on the good things that are tied to springing forward:
- It conserves energy
- There is more sunlight in the evening
- Inevitably my sister and I text each other lyrics from the Chicago song ‘Does anyone really know what time it is?’, which is actually a fun tradition.
As I pour an extra cup of caffeine today (or maybe the entire week) to help adjust, I’ll take a DEEP breath recognize the positives (and recognize that the impact really only lasts a few days).
See if you can be grateful for Daylight Saving Time.
Here are some clocks to inspire you. Bonus points if you know where these are!
