Top of the morning to you, Governor! Here we are on day 2 of this adventure. My roommate for the week, Cammie, did not mention anything about me snoring, so I’ll take that as a win! Breakfast is included in our hotel, so we trundled downstairs (after enjoying a cup of Nespresso coffee in the room first) for breakfast. Wary of a Full English Breakfast, I choose eggs, sausage and hash browns. Enough to energize me for the day.

Today we have THREE activities planned: The National History Museum, Tea at Fortnum Mason Exchange AND Le Miserables. My friend is a photographer so she had purchased tickets for the Wildlife photography exhibit at the National History Museum. We wandered through the rooms looking at pictures. I was doing great until I read the dreadful backstory to a picture of a baby bird surrounded by crabs. Let’s just leave it by saying 1) Nature is cruel and 2) I could not be a wildlife photographer.

That wasn’t the only image like that, which frankly made me a little sad. We concluded by seeing the fun T-Rex (for Christmas he wears a Christmas jumper) and then headed back to the hotel…I think…the days are already blurring together.

We had a lovely tea at the Royal Exchange that concluded rather humorously because our waiter disappeared. I guess his shift was over. I was introduced to Countess Gray tea which is the MOST delicious tea around. Lucky for me, they gave us a discount so I went to the store and immediately picked up a box as a gift for me.

We shopped a little more then dropped our stuff back at the hotel…and almost missed the start of the show. I don’t know what happened…but there was some confusion around when the show began and how long it would take to get there, so we had a mad dash. We hailed a taxi who raced across town. I was convinced we wouldn’t make it and was rather put out…but miraculously we did!

We had front row seats in the 1st balcony. PERFECTION! Les Miserables is always a good show. I especially like the ice cream at interval (not intermission) tradition that the Brits have. Quite the full day…but we weren’t done yet. We decided to swing by the Boots and have a little shopping fun. Even though we were all tired, it took some time to unwind after the show. Another busy day tomorrow…
