Have you ever stopped for a minute and thought about air travel? Not the negativity surrounding it (why do I have to get to the airport 3 hours before my flight? why do I have no leg room), but the logistics around getting all these people from point A to point B? Delta’s debacle a couple weeks ago could have really turned us all into ungrateful grouches. Instead I focused on being grateful. With as many flights that got canceled, I am grateful that mine took off, even if it was a couple hours late. I’m grateful that Delta didn’t boot me for a revenue passenger (I used a ton of miles to fly to Amsterdam).
Prior to air travel, the only way to get to Europe was a ship that could take weeks. Now I can go to sleep on the plane (hopefully) at night in Atlanta and wake up in Europe in the morning. How amazing is that?
Your challenge is to express some gratitude – for the gate agent, the baggage handler, the pilot, the flight attendants…everyone who gets you to your destination safely.
