Music is such an influence on my life – whether I’m listening from my seat in the theater, listening (and likely singing) in my car, singing on stage or singing in the choir, music has a way of speaking to me (and I hope through me to others). I’ve even been known to sing while walking Mavis through the neighborhood! Mostly I know song snippets – it is rare that I can sing an entire song from memory. That may be early dementia or just how my brain works.
Awhile back I read an article about how you should rewrite your life as a blockbuster movie. I’ve got the post (blank) sitting in my draft folder, waiting for inspiration. While I wait for the MUSE to hit me for my blockbuster, please enjoy my music list.

I thought about sharing the reasons why the above songs made the top 20 list. You might be able to guess…and maybe I’ll come back in later to fill in the stories. There are definitely more songs than this, but I do want to get this post done, since I was gone all last week.
There are other songs that got me through some challenging times. For example, my go-to songs in 2014 (bad year for me) included: Say something, Problem, Used to Love you, I won’t give up. If I hear them today, I’m immediately transported to that year – a year full of transformation that I wouldn’t wish on anyone.
If you’re on spotify, you can find the list here.
What’s on your soundtrack?
(I couldn’t find a picture of me singing, so here’s a funny sign at the London show for Grease)
