While one picture paints a thousand words, for me music expresses so much more than a painting. Music conveys complex imagery through words, emotions, unified or atonal sounds. Today’s gratitude challenge is about being grateful for the music in your life. It doesn’t matter if it is country, christian, rock, emo, classical, pop. Music has the ability to change your mood.
I was in Calgary and stumbled on the Studio Bell, the Canadian Music Hall of Fame. There was a level in the building dedicated to the impact of music on people – both physically and mentally. It’s been proven with dementia patients that music memory is deeply embedded in the brain and can elicit responses when almost all memory is gone.
So be grateful for music – whatever the genre and whether you enjoy listening or creating it.
