I know I’ve tried to keep these gratitude challenges to Wednesdays, but this is a special challenge for Election Day.

Some voting right facts to absorb on this election day:

  • Women now have the right to vote in every country and territory in the world except for one: Vatican City, in which only Catholic Church cardinals, who must be male, vote to elect the pope.
  • One of the most recent jurisdictions to acknowledge women’s full right to vote was Bhutan in 2008 (its first national elections).
  • Most recently, King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia let Saudi women vote and run for office for the first time in the 2015 local elections.

So your challenge is two fold

  1. Be grateful that you have the right to vote
  2. Vote today

Sort of part 3 to this challenge – make your vote an educated decision. Don’t just vote party lines, but instead do some research to know what is on the ballot and who is on the ballot (and what they stand for).

And remember, if you don’t vote then you can’t complain about the results!
