This past summer, several ladies and I embarked on a one-book book club – learn to pray in 28 days. It was decidedly harder than many of us thought. I have concluded that praying is just like any skill you’re trying to learn – you have to practice to get better at it. So I must practice – and for me that will include posting prayers here (I promise to give proper credit on ones that I don’t write myself) from time to time.
This one is from a book, Positive Prayers for Power-Filled Living, my pastor gave me upon graduation. My guess, by the look of the book, is that this is from my high school graduation. Unfortunately, I don’t remember much about the preacher but I did keep the book all these years. It is a bit tattered (aren’t we all) but is a great resource.
Prayer for Your Tomorrow
May God bless you with
a clear dawning,
a cool morning,
a warm noonday,
a golden sunset,
a gentle twilight,
a starlit night,
and if clouds should cross your sky,
may God give you the faith to look for
the silver lining.
Amen.
